ABOUT STERK SERVER!

My journey into the world of technology began the moment I got my first laptop. What started as simple curiosity quickly grew into a passion — experimenting with virtual machines, dual booting operating systems, and transferring files between environments. My first Linux distribution was Ubuntu, and from that point forward, my skills and confidence with computers grew tremendously. I may not know everything, and I am always the first to admit there is more to learn, but that hunger to keep improving is exactly what drives me forward.

That same spirit of exploration and perseverance is deeply rooted in where my family comes from. I was born and raised here in the United States, but I proudly carry Norwegian heritage in my blood through my father’s side. My paternal grandmother — full-blooded Norwegian and one of the wisest people I have ever known — lived a remarkable 98 years. Her parents made the courageous journey of immigrating from Norway to the United States, settling in Duluth, Minnesota, and building a life from the ground up in a new land. That pioneering spirit carried forward through generations. My grandmother had a gift for making wisdom feel simple and adventure feel possible, and she grounded all of it in her Christian faith. Through her values, her stories, and the quiet strength she carried every single day, she showed me what it truly means to live with purpose. The Norse people were not just warriors and explorers; they were craftsmen, navigators, and problem-solvers who built something meaningful out of raw determination — and I see that same spirit alive in the courage of my great-grandparents, and in the faith and wisdom my grandmother passed down through my father to me.

The Norse runes woven throughout this site are not merely decorative. Each one carries meaning that reflects the values behind this project:

It is the intersection of these two passions — a love of computers and a deep respect for the heritage and values instilled in me — that gave birth to Sterk Server. The name itself says it all. Sterk is the Norwegian word for strong, and that is exactly what this platform is built to be: strong, reliable, and purposeful.

ᚺ Hagalaz (HAH-gah-lahz) — Transformation through disruption. Every system failure, every late night debugging session, every fresh start — all of it shapes something better.

ᛉ Algiz (AHL-geez) — Protection and Defense. At its core, this server exists to provide a safe, dependable space for the people who use it.

ᛁ Isa (EE-sah) — Stillness and Clarity. Good technology should be calm, focused, and invisible — it simply works.

ᛟ Othala (OH-thah-lah) — Heritage, Home, and Legacy. This one perhaps means the most. Sterk Server is built on the legacy of those who came before me — in technology, in family, and in faith.
